Restoration of the Holy Church of Agia Dynami on Mitropoleos and Penteli streets
The holy church of Agia Dynami of the post-Byzantine years (Metochio of I.M. Pentelis), is located on Mitropoleos and Pentelis streets and occupies a section northwest of the portico of the building. It is a small one-room temple with a double wooden roof, with the arched niche of the Sanctuary. The walls are decorated with frescoes. As part of the project of converting the existing building into a hotel, restoration of the temple (architectural, static, electromechanical) and maintenance of the frescoes and its architectural elements were carried out. In particular, the newest coating and the corresponding grouting-mortar of the era were removed, in order to identify the phases of the monument and to prepare the rest of the work. During the works of foundation and strengthening of the pillars of the modern building, exploratory sections were carried out northeast of the temple with a full excavation survey, design mapping and photographic documentation, where older phases of the monument were identified.
