The archaeological film entitled “Origins” was selected at the 11th International archaeological film festival “ AGON” to be screened at the competition stage.
The film is a production of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens, directed by Constantinos Arvanitakis, screenplay by Panagiotis Papoutsakis and screenplay adaptation by Don Morgan Nielsen, where a teenage girl tours the “Heart of Ancient Athens”, i.e. the Acropolis, the Dionysiac Theater, the Ancient Agora, the Pnyka, the Kerameikos, the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library discovering the essence of modern European values in their original form, those of the Classical Age. The aim of the “Origins” project is to detect European values in the monuments of the historical center of Athens by young people and to make them aware of the common history of Europe by focusing on pan-European values: freedom of expression and speech, democracy, eunomy , egalitarianism, scientific thinking and creativity, values that strengthen European unity.
