The Theater of Dionysos Eleftherios is one of the most important monuments of the Southern Slope, an integral part of the god’s sanctuary and the setting of ancient drama from its genesis to the Hellenistic and Roman times.
The work on the monument focused on two areas, namely the hollow, where the fixing and restoration of steps and pedestals continued (Stand VIII, rows 14-16), as well as the eastern lateral relief, where casting, stonework, transportation and installation took place 31 of new cobblestones and in situ completion of another 4 stones. The work was documented archaeologically with excavation investigations of a small area, which have provided important new information about the historical phases of the monument.
