An important concern was the expansion of the infrastructure of the museums under the jurisdiction of the Ephorate, with the aim of properly safeguarding the movable monuments.

In this context, new safe supports were designed and placed on 50 images of the P. & Al. Kanellopoulos Museum. In the Museum of the Ancient Agora, the outdated air conditioning system was replaced, while at the same time, anti-seismic bases were created to protect all exhibits. In the showcases of the same museum, special gaskets were placed to ensure their sealing, while new LED lighting systems were also installed inside them, to protect the antiquities from overheating and save energy. of an existing modern antiquities pedestal within the atrium and construction of infrastructure for the placement of the thrigos of Agathon’s burial monument.

Relocation of the Archaeological Collection of Kifissia

An important goal of the new Ephorate was also to solve a chronic problem, that of the relocation of the Archaeological Collection of Kifissia, which has remained closed since 2009. Thanks to the systematic and friendly cooperation with the new Municipal Authority, the new warehouse/maintenance workshop on the property is now being completed which had already been granted and the most suitable and commonly accepted solution for housing the Collection has already been found.
