“Highlight of the Benizelos Mansion” Beneficiary: Holy Archdiocese of Athens. Sub-project with implementing body E.A.Ath. “Highlighting of a Late Roman wall and findings of the surrounding area”

As part of the sub-project, works were carried out that included the maintenance of the late Roman wall, the lowering of the northern part of the northern courtyard, the construction of the northern part of the staircase going up to the floor, the conservation of the stone elements of the mansion, the medieval tank in its southern courtyard, of the linen, the clay ducts in the porch and the mouths of the cisterns. A glass walkable floor over the wall trench, a canopy for the medieval cistern and vertical glass in the opening of the east wall of the porch on the ground floor of the Mansion were also constructed. Paving in the northern courtyard of the mansion and, in the northern enclosure, new wooden doors and fencing, in specific positions, to demarcate the archaeological finds.
