In the context of the assumption of responsibility for the maintenance of the monuments of the largest part of the basin of Athens by the Maintenance Department of the EFA.ATH. a total of seven maintenance workshops were operated, re-operated or established. In addition to the already equipped laboratories of the Ephoria, i.e. the Platonos Academy, the Western Hills/South Slope and Melidoni Street, the Acropolis laboratory was staffed, equipped and reactivated – in whose responsibility the Herod Atticus Conservatory and the Stoa Eumenoues were included – and created areas and groups for the conservation of the monuments of the Ancient and Roman Agora, Ceramic and Byzantine monuments, paintings and icons..

Until February 2016, the Maintenance Department successfully completed within schedules the NSRF projects that were mentioned in detail above and were mainly aimed at maintenance work, based on approved studies, but also the preparation of new ones where required.
At the same time, the required maintenance operations were carried out on many monuments under the jurisdiction of the Ephorate, such as the monument of Thrasyllos, the Wall of Dragatsaniou Street, the Sanctuary of Meilichi Dios and the mosaic floor of Zappeion.
Application of laser cleaning of the temple of Agathon in the Archaeological Site of Kerameikos, completion of maintenance work in a ceramic kiln and maintenance of mortars and plasters was carried out.
