Acropolis for people with visual disabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Walk on the Acropolis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, fully recognizing the right of people with visual disabilities to walk around the Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has ensured their accessibility through navigation via a special application on mobile phones, the construction of a model of the Archaeological Site and the creation of a tactile route enriched with specially designed tools for people with visual impairment. This special Application, is available in two versions for Android and IOS mobile phones, compatible with all relevant devices. It includes general information of access to the Acropolis and archaeological information of the Archaeological Site and its monuments, both written and oral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At each monument the application automatically recognizes the user&#8217;s location and gives the corresponding information. The user can select the audio description of the place of interest.
