the archaeological sites <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/odysseus.culture.gr\/h\/3\/gh351.jsp?obj_id=2409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"customize-unpreviewable userway-s14-active\" data-userway-s6-styled=\"true\"><span>of Acropolis &amp; Areopagitou, Ap. Pavlou, Ermou) &#8211; as well as two archaeological museums &#8211; the Ancient Agora\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"userway-s14-active\"><span>and<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0the Kerameikos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"userway-s14-active\"><span>Its jurisdiction also includes the particularly important set of Byzantine monuments in the center of Athens (indicative <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/odysseus.culture.gr\/h\/2\/gh251.jsp?obj_id=1685\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"customize-unpreviewable userway-s14-active\" data-userway-s6-styled=\"true\"><span>Agioi Theodoroi<\/span><\/a><span>,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/odysseus.culture.gr\/h\/2\/gh251.jsp?obj_id=833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"customize-unpreviewable userway-s14-active\" data-userway-s6-styled=\"true\"><span>Kapnikarea<\/span><\/a><span>,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/odysseus.culture.gr\/h\/2\/gh251.jsp?obj_id=1720\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"customize-unpreviewable userway-s14-active\" data-userway-s6-styled=\"true\"><span>Gorgoepikoos<\/span><\/a><span>, Soteira Kottaki, etc.), as well as many\u00a0 post-Byzantine and newer church monuments (indicative Panagia Chrysospiliotissa, Agia Irini etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"userway-s14-active\"><span>According to the Organization, the Regional Services of GDAPK exercise their responsibilities locally within the boundaries of their regions, cooperate with the respective Directorates of the Central Service and the other Services of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.culture.gr\/el\/SitePages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"customize-unpreviewable userway-s14-active\" data-userway-s6-styled=\"true\"><span>Ministry of Culture<\/span><\/a><span> \u00a0and carry out projects, which are included in the annual Operational Plans\u00a0<\/span><span>or Action Programs as approved by the Minister, after the opinion of the competent Councils.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>They also prepare the files for the introduction of the issues to the relevant Local Council of Monuments and draw up proposals to the relevant Directorates of the Central Service for the introduction of issues to the central advisory <\/span><span>bodies, as defined by the current legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"userway-s14-active\"><span>The responsibilities transferred by the Minister of Culture to the Heads of the Regional and Special Regional Services under the jurisdiction of the GDAPC are specialized based on the relevant<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>YA (Government Gazette 2049\/B\/4.6.2019).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens is a Regional Service of the Ministry of Culture under the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage.
